Seven miles of Gulf-facing coastline create breathtaking views and one-of-a-kind memories on Fort Myers Beach. Located on Estero Island with the Gulf of Mexico to the west and Estero Bay to the east, time spent on Fort Myers Beach is a true getaway. Full of colorful shops and restaurants, a fun bar scene, plenty of live music, and fun festivals for the whole family, this is one neighborhood you won’t want to miss.

A stay in one of the iconic beachfront resorts grants you access to private beaches, exclusive views and convenient activities. Pink Shell Beach Resort & Marina located on the north end of the island has a full-service spa and private marina offering watercraft rentals and access to the Great Calusa Blueway, a nearly 200-mile marked paddling trail. With three on-site dining options and a private beach with rentable cabanas, The Outrigger Beach Resort offers relaxation and ease. Its popular beachfront Tiki Bar draws locals and visitors from all around the Fort Myers area for its nightly live music and themed cocktails.

Times Square is a pedestrian-friendly downtown area filled with shops, restaurants and bars with the Fort Myers Beach Fishing Pier at its heart. On most nights, the square comes alive with musical performances and fiery sunsets. Grab a meal at one of the many family-friendly eateries and take an after-dinner stroll down the pier for salty sea breezes and perfect photo opportunities. Or you can enjoy spectacular ocean views and fresh seafood from Gulf-front restaurants like The Salty Crab Bar & Grill and Shucker’s at the Gulfshore.

Visit the Fort Myers Beach Art Association & Gallery, home to more than 150 area artists, many of them nationally recognized. Take an art class led by one of the association’s members and learn to create your own work of art. Or take a drive across the bridge to San Carlos Island and take the whole family to the Ostego Bay Foundation Marine Science Center for interactive exhibits, touch tanks, aquariums and more.

Nature abounds on Fort Myers Beach. Bowditch Point Park on the north end of the island offers panoramic Gulf views, a white-sand beach and walking trails through the preserve area. Pass under mangrove tree canopies and oak hammocks at Matanzas Pass Preserve, a 60-acre preserve with a 1.25-mile trail and water access to the Great Calusa Blueway. At Mound House you can explore the 2,000-year-old shell mound created by the Indigenous Calusa at your own pace, on a guided walking tour or even a unique guided kayak tour.

Fort Myers Beach’s family-friendly atmosphere and endless opportunities for recreation and relaxation make it a neighborhood worth taking the time to explore. Find your new favorite hidden gem or hit all the local favorites. No matter what you do, you’ll leave with memories to last a lifetime and a desire to come back for more.
