Captiva’s beaches are some of the most coveted in the world for their white sands and rich collections of seashells. Yet this special island still preserves a secluded charm that makes you feel as if you’ve discovered a place that’s all your own.

Located just over the small bridge at Blind Pass from Sanibel Island, Captiva opens you up to an island full of scenic beauty as you roll down Captiva Drive, where bougainvilleas and other tropical flowers present bright pops of color along the way. In "Downtown Captiva," the cuisine spans from seafood shacks to fine dining, with something to satisfy every taste.

Set sail from Captiva to spot a host of wildlife frolicking in the waters – jumping dolphins and floating manatees are regular visitors as you cross toward the more remote barrier islands. Beautiful Captiva Beach is naturally romantic with secluded shores and brilliant sunsets. Blind Pass Beach sits right at the junction of Sanibel and Captiva islands, where you’ll spot others strolling among the sand bars, gathering seashells and watching the sun go down.

Speaking of magical sunsets, you’ll want to keep your eyes open here for a unique phenomenon called "the green flash," a brilliant burst of light that only appears in a clear sky just as the sun sinks behind the water's horizon line.
