Located at Tinsley Pavillion at Mike Greenwell Regional Park (formerly known as Lee County Civic Center), this mural reflects the area’s honey harvesting in arresting 3D optical illusion techniques from award-winning artist Sitki Dogan. The park hosts the Southwest Florida Ag Expo, the Lee County 4-H program and other agricultural initiatives throughout the year.
The mural also depicts North Fort Myers pristine natural beauty with local wildflowers and plants, including Indian blanket, porter weed, spider wart, bidens and saw palmetto. This special Fort Myers community remains very rural and is home to farms, ranches and largely undeveloped uplands of beautiful pine flatwoods and majestic oak hammocks.
After getting your pictures at the mural, stop by Walker Farms to get some of their amazing honey. Fun fact: Walker Farms was originally chosen as the flower variety source for the orange blossom and saw palmetto honey used in "beehive beeproducts" Sampler Honey Set, which made Oprah Winfrey's The O List!
