Why Sanibel Island Is a Crafter’s Dream
@clare.sull
On her journey to transform her mantle into a shmantle (shell mantle), Clare headed to Southwest Florida with her besties to indulge in their seashell collecting obsession. They convened in a vacation rental on Sanibel Island and gathered shells from Bowman’s Beach Park in between other adventures.

Shellabrating Craft Night
Mounds of seashells made their way from Sanibel Island to Clare’s home for serious crafting time. Find out which shell made the cut as her favorite.
What was a special discovery on this trip?
THE SHELLS. Also, how “old Florida” Sanibel Island is. It truly felt like I stepped back in time. I haven’t seen those cool shacks by the shore and low-key vibes since I was a little girl. I can’t wait to go back.
What was your favorite meal?
The scallops at Gramma Dot’s were amazing.
What was your favorite activity?
Collecting seashells and chatting with my best friends while doing so.
What tips do you have for other seashell collectors?
Pack plastic bags for your shells, bring oil to polish them and bring packing supplies to carry them home (containers, packing papers, etc.).
What’s your top can’t-miss experience in Southwest Florida?
Stopping at She Sells Sea Shells to buy a very cute and unique shell souvenir.
