For more than five decades, Messina has built an extraordinary career as a singer, songwriter, guitarist, bassist, producer, and engineer. He first became part of rock history working with Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Buffalo Springfield, ultimately joining the band on bass. When Buffalo Springfield disbanded, Messina and Richie Furay founded Poco, where Messina’s work on lead guitar helped pioneer the sound of country rock. His next chapter began when Columbia Records asked him to work with a then-unknown Kenny Loggins.

Messina produced and performed on Kenny Loggins with Jim Messina Sittin’ In, and an “accidental duo” was born. Over the next seven years, Loggins & Messina released eight hit albums and sold more than 16 million albums, becoming one of rock’s most successful duos. Their remarkable catalog produced enduring favorites including “Your Mama Don’t Dance,” “Danny’s Song,” “House at Pooh Corner,” “Angry Eyes,” “Vahevala,” and “Watching the River Run.”

Today, Messina brings this extraordinary catalog to the stage with The Road Runners, featuring Steve Nieves on saxophone, woodwinds, percussion and vocals; Jim Frazier on keyboards, guitar and vocals; Ben King on bass and vocals; and Jack Bruno on drums. The acclaimed ensemble is featured on Messina’s live recording Here, There & Everywhere, showcasing music from throughout his remarkable career.

From the groundbreaking country rock of Poco to the unforgettable songs of Loggins & Messina, Jim Messina & The Road Runners bring together five decades of iconic music, exceptional musicianship, and songs that have become part of the American soundtrack.
