Oct 14, 2025

7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Haunted tales at a haunted theatre...it must be October.

Remember that song linked to an odd death on the campus of the University of Florida? How about the statue that gets up at night and slips into bedrooms? When you hear there is a haunted theatre, you’re not surprised, but rather you need the person to be specific about which one they mean.

Remember that song linked to an odd death on the campus of the University of Florida? How about the statue that gets up at night and slips into bedrooms? When you hear there is a haunted theatre, you’re not surprised, but rather you need the person to be specific about which one they mean.

The arts have long been connected with ghost stories. There is just something about the passion and imagination that goes into the creative process that begs to have some of that energy stay behind. Florida’s spooky folklore is a trip through a museum or the flicker from a movie projector, or the flashing lights telling the audience it is time to take their seats.

Join Christopher Balzano, host of Tripping on Legends and author of Haunted Southwest Florida as he acts as guide through those stories. From haunted theatres in Fort Myers to a cursed author’s rooms in Daytona, join the Laboratory Theatre as we draw the curtain back on the creepy connection between the creative process and the paranormal.

Christopher Balzano is a writer, folklorist, and host of the podcast Tripping on Legends. His work combines storytelling and history to tell the complete tale of local legends throughout Florida.

This event is not included in the Lab's season passes.
