Here are a few green ways to get around.
Earth-Friendly Transportation
Walking and Biking
You’ll find many areas, such as downtown neighborhoods, shopping plazas and along the islands and beaches, that are great for walking and biking. Staying at a hotel in these areas makes it easy to walk or bike to everything you need, from restaurants and shops to attractions and nightlife. It's a fun way to explore, lesson your carbon footprint and exercise. Some accommodations even offer free bikes with your stay, or you can rent one from a local bike shop. Learn more and find area bike maps here.

Golf Carts
Renting a golf cart is another fun way to explore if you’re staying on Captiva Island, Pine Island or Gasparilla Island.
Renting an Electric or Hybrid Vehicle
You can find online charging stations during your stay on Google Maps, or use websites like PlugShare and ChargeFinder, which let you search for fast chargers and types of chargers so you can make sure it’s the right charger for your vehicle.

Public Transportation
If you’re flying into Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW), choose to stay at one of several hotels that offer a free shuttle service to and from the airport. You can also take advantage of public transportation throughout the area by LeeTran. It also offers transportation to and from RSW, as well as routes to beaches, parks and other public attractions. Its electric trolley and tram system runs in downtown Fort Myers, North Fort Myers and makes frequent stops along Fort Myers Beach. The LeeFare app offers an easy way to find routes, plan your trip and pay.
