Culture Through Cuisine

While there’s no shortage of delicious taquerias and taco trucks, it’s also easy to expand your culinary horizons throughout the Fort Myers area. El Acajutla’s pupusas are a Central American staple, made with soft masa dough pressed with meat, cheese and veggies and topped with a tangy slaw. Wash it down with a refreshing passion fruit or soursop smoothie. If you’re craving delicious seafood, Sunqu Delights of Peru in North Fort Myers offers a variety of ceviches, along with hearty stews and satisfying Peruvian rice platters. In the heart of Cape Coral, Cubay Restaurant is as authentic as it gets, with everything from oversized Cuban sandwiches to tasty tostones. Two other authentic favorites not to be missed: La Pablanita for the best tacos you've ever tasted and amazing handcrafted ice cream and popsicles at Coya's Artisanal Ice Cream.
