Honoring Our Heroes

This Inaugural Concert of the Fort Myers Philharmonic, on the 25th anniversary of the tragedy of 9/11, is also a special tribute to local First Responders, honoring their service and dedication to the community.

The program will begin with interviews of First Responders who were there twenty-five years ago. Followed by the orchestra and chorus joining the stage: Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings & Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Requiem. Experience an unforgettable evening of powerful orchestral music with Barber's haunting and deeply moving Adagio for Strings beginning this special commemorative concert. Immediately afterward, the Philharmonic will be joined onstage in Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall by the highly acclaimed Fort Myers Symphonic Mastersingers for Mozart’s Requiem. A quartet of celebrated young soloists will complete the ensemble for Mozart's monumental final Masterwork.
