When your time away comes with hearty doses of essential vitamins, you can trust that your vacation will benefit your body as well as your state of mind. Follow our guide to getting vitamins A through D, sourced straight from nature on The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel.

Vitamin A: Carrots get a lot of credit, but vitamin A is also commonly found in liver and dairy products. While you’re dining around town, you’ll likely run into another great source of Vitamin A — mangos! Along with fiber and antioxidants, this locally grown tropical fruit packs a healthful punch with every bite.

Check out our guide to the tropical fruits of Southwest Florida.

Vitamin B: The energy-boosting B vitamins can be found in a variety of food sources, from leafy greens and whole grains to beef and poultry. In this corner of Florida, you can also load up on B complex-rich food such as avocados and seafood. Oysters, in particular, are high in vitamin B-12, while certain local fish such as snapper provide a healthy amount of this necessary nutrient.

Vitamin C: Florida. Oranges. Need we say more? Well, actually, there are lots of other locally grown superfoods that can improve your immune system including papayas and pineapples.

Vitamin D: It’s called the sunshine vitamin, so what are you waiting for? Plan a trip to our sun-drenched beaches and islands and call it a wellness escape. While you’re here, you can fortify your diet with even more vitamin D-enriched ingredients such as fatty fish.
